Who is responsible
HelderStack (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/373269/07) is the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice. Frederick Adriaan Henning is HelderStack's registered Information Officer.
Privacy enquiries and requests can be sent to info@helderstack.dev.
What we process
We may process the following limited personal information:
- Email correspondence: your name, email address, organisation, message and any information you choose to include when you contact us.
- Technical request information: our web server or hosting provider may receive an IP address, browser or device details, requested page, date and time, and security or diagnostic information when delivering the site.
We collect correspondence directly from you and technical information from your browser's request to the site. Please do not email sensitive, special or children's personal information unless we have agreed a suitable secure process with you first.
Why we process it
We use this information only where relevant to:
- receive and respond to your enquiry;
- take steps you request when discussing possible services;
- operate, diagnose and protect the availability and security of this site;
- maintain appropriate business records; and
- meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
Depending on the circumstances, the POPIA justification is your consent, the actions you ask us to take in connection with a possible agreement, a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in corresponding with you and protecting this site without overriding your privacy interests.
Cookies and third-party tracking
HelderStack does not use analytics, advertising pixels, social-media trackers or non-essential cookies on this site. The site also does not load third-party fonts. If this changes, we will update this notice and introduce any choice mechanism that is required before the new processing starts.
Who may receive information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share only what is necessary with service providers that support web hosting, email or IT operations; advisers who owe duties of confidentiality; and public bodies, regulators or courts where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
A service provider may process information outside South Africa depending on the configured hosting and email regions. Before production use, HelderStack must verify those locations and safeguards. Any cross-border transfer will be made only on a ground permitted by section 72 of POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep correspondence and technical information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose described above, including applicable legal, accounting, security and dispute-resolution needs. When there is no lawful reason to retain it, we delete, destroy or de-identify it in a way that prevents reconstruction.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the foreseeable risks. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, so please use care when deciding what to send by ordinary email.
Your choices and rights
Subject to POPIA and PAIA, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it. You may also ask us to correct, update, delete or destroy information where applicable, or object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Send a request or objection to info@helderstack.dev. If you believe your personal information has been processed contrary to POPIA, you may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Access to information
Our PAIA manual explains the categories of records we hold and how to request access to them. You can download the HelderStack PAIA manual as a PDF.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site, our providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will appear on this page with its updated date.
